The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department identified a victim who was killed this past weekend in south Charlotte.
It happened around 3 a.m. Saturday. MEDIC responded alongside police at the 500 block of Branch Way Court. First responders found a victim with a gunshot wound, officials said.

Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
On Thursday, the victim was identified as 28-year-old Jenrri Omar Guzman Valle.
Police haven’t said what led to Valle’s death or if a suspect has been identified.
Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting. The case is active, officials said.
