Pair arrested for alleged role in thefts from Camarillo storage facility
A man and woman were arrested in Ventura in connection with numerous break-ins at a Camarillo storage facility, thefts from units and stealing a utility trailer, authorities said.
The May 7 arrests were tied to alleged crimes in April at StorQuest Self Storage on North Lewis Road, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies with the Camarillo station were called out for at least five reports of thefts from storage units and the trailer.
Using surveillance video and information from witnesses, investigators tied the thefts to a woman renting a unit at the storage facility and a man. Detectives executed a search warrant of the woman’s storage unit April 4 and found multiple stolen items, sheriff’s officials said in a news release.
Investigators learned the pair was temporarily living in Ventura and took them into custody May 7. Camarillo detectives also executed a search warrant on the Ventura apartment where the pair was staying and found more stolen property from the storage facility.
The woman, 46, of Thousand Oaks, is facing multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit a crime, burglary and the unlawful taking of a vehicle. The man, 43, of Coachella, is facing charges for conspiracy to commit a crime and unlawful taking of a vehicle. He was also wanted on five felony out-of-county warrants, sheriff’s officials said.
The woman has since been released on bail, and is slated to appear in Ventura County Superior Court May 21, jail records show. The man was also released on bail, and is expected to appear in court May 22.
Investigators said they believe the pair is responsible for additional storage unit burglaries.
Anyone who believes they may have been a victim related to storage-unit burglaries and the unlawful taking of trailers is asked to contact Detective Schaum Song or Detective Kenneth Ledesma at 805-388-5119.

The Ventura Police Department said they received calls around 9 a.m. about the man making threats and responded to the campus on Santa Clara Street in midtown. The officers said the man knew the student, approached the child on campus and made criminal threats.
The student was not injured, and the man was arrested and booked into the Ventura County jail, Ventura police said.
