What are the new charges?
The Crown Prosecution Service, in a statement after the arrest, said it charged the brothers related to alleged offenses between July 2010 and August 2017 involving four alleged victims.
It charged Andrew Tate, 39, with seven counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and 19 charges for offenses connected to indecent images of a child and “extreme pornography.”
Tristan Tate, 38, meanwhile, was charged with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.
The 38 new charges stem from continuing investigations into other alleged offenses reported to the Bedfordshire Police and Hertfordshire Constabulary. The Tates already face previous charges in the U.K. for rape and other crimes. With the additions, the total number of charges against the brothers in the U.K. is now 59.
