The Savannah Police Department has made arrests in connection with the shooting early Sunday on W. Bay Street.
Marquell Moultrie, 24, has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during a felony, and possession of an illegal weapon. Malik Moultrie, 23, was charged with obstruction, party to a crime (aggravated assault), tampering with evidence, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of an illegal weapon, according to a press release.
Around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to gunfire at W. Bay Street and Jefferson Sreet. When they got there, they saw Marquell with a firearm and acted to take him into custody. Marquell dropped the weapon, which was picked up by Malik, who attempted to flee. Both were taken into custody on the scene. One male was treated for a graze wound.
Officers also responded to the 1100 block of E. Waldburg St. simeultaneously, regarding a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire while driving down Bay Street. The driver was treated for a minor graze wound.
