What is the status of Tangles Hair Salon post deer break-in?

A deer that broke into Tangles Hair Salon in Keokuk, Iowa, left behind a trail of blood after sustaining injuries from jumping through the shop’s window.
Tangles Hair Salon had to open two hours later on Tuesday. Considering the potential damage the deer could have caused, owner Tarla Price said the wild incident played out as best as it could have. The deer ran into Price’s office where there is electronics and the security system for the salon, all of which remained untouched by the frantic deer.
“He literally went around my desk and didn’t get caught in any of the cords,” Price said.
Everything in the corner by the window was destroyed, but things still could have been worse. Price’s salon also serves as a boutique, so there are many breakable trinkets in the shop as well. While there was minimal breakage, the deer left behind a trail of blood all around the store after cutting itself from jumping through the window.
“You could tell exactly where he had been because he left a blood trail where he went,” Price said.

The deer that broke into Tangles Hair Salon tried to exit out another window in the salon but was unsuccessful.
The deer was eventually put down due to the injuries it sustained, police told Price. The unfortunate event reminded Price how much support can come from her community. A local glass retailer came in the same morning to reinstall the window and a local floor restoration helped clean up the blood.
“It really is a blessing that we live in our little town because in a big city people would just drive by and forget about it,” Price said. “I am grateful for that.”
