GOSHEN TOWNSHIP ‒ A husband and wife from Uhrichsville died following a motorcycle crash June 1 on U.S. 250 in Goshen Township.
According to the New Philadelphia post of the Ohio pHighway Patrol, Keith Morris, 47, of Uhrichsville, was driving a blue 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on U.S. 250 at 8:11 p.m., pulling a camper trailer. His wife, Jill, 44, was a passenger on the motorcycle.
The trailer began to sway, and the motorcyclist lost control. The motorcycle overturned and slid off the right side of the roadway, troopers said.
Jill Morris was killed in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene by the Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office.
Keith Morris sustained life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital by the New Philadelphia Fire Department emergency squad and later flown by helicopter to Akron General Hospital. He was pronounced dead there by the Summit County Coroner’s Office.
Jill was a cook for the Claymont City School District, which will provide counseling services to the staff.
The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, New Philadelphia Fire Department, Dover Fire Department, and Jim’s assisted the Ohio Highway Patrol at the crash scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
