A Milford man is accused of stabbing another man with whom he was having an argument on Wednesday, May 21, on Read Street, according to police.
Police charged Luan Moura, 33, after the 3:59 p.m. incident, according to a press release.
The alleged victim, whom police did not identify, called police at the time of the incident and said another man, later identified as Moura, attacked him with a knife and assaulted him, police said in the release.
Police said Moura and the alleged victim are known to one another and that there is no danger to the public. Police did describe the relationship between the two men.

Moura had left the home where the incident occurred, but returned at 4:30 p.m. and police arrested him.
Police charged Moura with assault with the intent to murder; assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife); and assault and battery.
The man who was stabbed suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening, police said.

Police Chief Robert Tusino credited officers and dispatchers for the work they did on the case.
“All parties involved are lucky to escape this situation without serious injury,” he said in an email. “I’m continually proud of the standard of care set by all of our responders. Dispatchers navigating an active life-threatening incident to supply resources and our patrol force for bringing a swift resolution in capturing an extremely dangerous suspect.”

Moura pleaded not guilty Thursday during his arraignment in Milford District Court. Judge Richard Eustis ordered him held on $7,500 bail. Moura is due back in court on June 26 for a pretrial conference.
The name of Moura’s lawyer was not available.
