Kahlana Barfield Brown wants to make getting dressed easier and more exciting, and her clothing line, KBB by Kahlana, does exactly that for her devoted group of fashion-loving fans. Brown, who grew up in Seattle, first pursued a media career—including serving as beauty director for InStyle, where she helped set and shape trends—before deciding to pursue her love of fashion full time. Brown was part of the first cohort of Target’s Future Collective guest designers, and her drops were so successful that she and the retailer teamed up to launch KBB by Kahlana in the fall of 2025. The line, which reflects Brown’s streetwear-inspired personal style and emphasizes affordability and size-inclusivity, continues to sell out both online and in stores. A lot of that is due to her voice on social media: Brown brings her 360,000 Instagram followers along for the ride, making them feel like part of the design process and listening to their feedback. This year, Brown has also partnered with beauty brands like Dove and Lancôme, and she collaborated with Starbucks on a weighted vest to promote the company’s protein-focused drinks. Her feed is full of outfit pics and styling inspiration.
